Purpose Driven Bathroom Humor: Rick Warren's Catechism for Teens

Excellent and TRUE information from the Slice of Laodicea (A most EXCELLENT blog!)

It's here. Purpose Driven Bathroom humor. Teen ministry getting a little dull lately? How about a power-point presentation on bathroom habits over the centuries complete with photos of toilets. Who says churches aren't using the old Puritan question and answer method of teaching young people? They are, they're just learning about human waste and not the Bible.

From the man who gave us the 40 Days of Purpose, we now have teen ministry material with the focus on excrement. I have samples of the jokes contained on the power-point but I am not going to insult my readers. Anyone concerned about the content can email me and I will let you know what Saddleback youth leaders are peddling to Christian young people. I thought I was beyond shocking but this one has me stunned.

Scroll down the page to the list of topics to see "bathroom humor". Jesus said that when the salt loses its savor it is fit only for the dunghill. The rebellious church is prophetically right where Christ said it would land.

Comment by Faithful to Him: Just what every concerned parent wants their teens to be encouraged to learn when they go to "church." NOT!! Well, thanks to Rick Warren's Purpose Driven your children can go to your local Purpose Driven church to learn bathroom humor and deprogram many of the godly observances you have worked so hard to instill in them as God-fearing parents.

Introducing Power Play, 20 all-new, interactive trivia games. Perfect for crowd-breakers, these outrageous PowerPoint slide-shows are a great way to get your students laughing, talking, and involved. Hilarious questions and engaging graphics make it easy to captivate students’ attention. You can use the games right out of the box or you can customize and create your own games – either way, no other resource makes ministry this easy and this much fun. We’ve discovered that students will keep asking, “Can we do another one of those games?”

Completely Customizable
Power Play Vol. 1 includes 20 original group trivia games – ready to use, as is. Or, if you want to add your own creativity, it’s downright simple. Each game also comes with an editable version so questions and answers can be customized specifically to your group. You also get great looking score sheets (PDFs) for each game to make you look even better.

No PowerPoint, No Problem
Don't use PowerPoint? No worries. We threw in a free version of Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer so you can still play the games. These will also work with other presentation software like Media Shout, and Keynote.

What You Need
Basically if you have a half-way decent computer – Mac or PC – you're fine. A little bit of room on your hard drive, standard video card, and a CD drive and you're good to go. Really, it’s that easy!

I have to agree somewhat with you on this one. Bathroom humor is innapropriate, and I'm glad they got rid of it.

But we musn't just attack Saddleback. This does not make it horrible or Satanic. People make mistakes. We all do.

Tim, when people make mistakes, especially along the lines of what God has said about something being right or wrong, then it is called sin. We must repent of our sin before the Lord and our church if necessary, and then turn from making the same sinful "mistakes" again. Mr. Warren has yet to repent of these "mistakes" he has made. If he could issue this Bathroom Humor publicly on his own site then he can just as easily issue an apology and recognition of the deed before God. That keeps everyone on the same accountability page and goes a long way in clearing the air for multitudes. :)
